This page hopes to capture all kits on the market. If we've missed one and you don't wish to edit this page drop us a line with a link and details.

This is a starter kit developed by the Chalmers Robot Association in Gorhenburg, Sweden.

The base functions on Introbot07 circuit board are:
Opponent detection with modulated IR, two IR edge detection sensors, 2ch. motor driver, preprogrammed ATMega168 controller, 4 leds, a button and a buzzer.
Connectors for: LCD, RS232, I2C and two servos.

Mechanical parts include: Tamiya dual gearbox with two ratios, 58:1 and 207:1, and two motors. 2 wheels with rubber tires.

The Mark III Robot is the successor to the previous robot kits designed and sold by the Portland Area Robotics Society. Sold as an entire kit it's aims to be general-purpose, expandable and accessible for beginners.

This kit contains a controller board, Sharp GP2D12 Distance Measuring sensors (Opponent detection), Fairchild QRB1134 IR Photo-reflector sensors (Edge Detection), pre-programmed PIC, chassis, wheels, servo motors, documentation and software.

SAM r I Mini Sumo SAM r I ( Society Autonomous Minisumo Robot, Intelligent: pronounced SAMURI ) is designed as an "easy to build" and comes with SUMO Sensei Application. Without programming experience this application allows the user to adjust the behaviour of the robot, generate the code, compile and downloader for your robot.

Stopar Mini Sumo This kit, from Siliconbrain, is controlled by a PICaxe 18X and uses QRD1114 edge detection, with SFH5110 based IR opponent detection. Drive comes via a pair of GM8 motors with L293D interface to the controller.

SumoBot SumoBot® is produced by Parallax, Inc. and designed within the Northwest Robot Mini-Sumo Tournament rules (these are are based on Official Rules of the FSI All Japan Robot Sumo Tournament). The kit's controller board has a surface-mounted BASIC Stamp® 2 module, with a bread board area, and 38.5kHz modulated infra-red opponent detection and opto-reflector edge detection. Hardware includes the chassis, servo motors and wheels.

The Parallax support is given thru' their forums. GB Flag

Available in the UK from Milford Instruments Ltd and British Robotics.

Solarbotic's Sumovore is modular kit with a discrete controller, options of Basic Stamp, PIC or Atmel (Mega8L) control boards as an extra. It's driven by GM8 gear motors, with L293D motor driver, and had 38kHz modulated infra-red opponent detection and QRD1114 opto-reflector edge detection. Hardware includes steel chassis and front plate/scoop, colour options are available on the front scoop and wheels. Since it has 5 front edge sensors it can successfully perform as a line-follower.

Sumovore is supported thru' Yahoo!® Groups.
